Shade first
Enhance living and working environments with custom shading systems that automatically control building glare and heat levels
As the world becomes more focused on energy saving methods, businesses and homeowners are looking at new ways to gain relief from heat and glare that aren't totally dependant on air conditioning.
Turner Brothers is a specialist shading systems and furnishings contractor that designed, supplied and installed an operable external louvre system on the Bond building at Hickson Road. This system works in tandem with the building's mechanical services to achieve a 5-star energy efficiency rating, says project manager, Jason Turner.
"Difficult environmental factors included high winds, and exposure to sun from early morninguntil sunset. Nysan Horiso blinds, which are flexible enough to dissipate wind pressure, were combined with a Nysan BlindView control system to protect the building, and give it a distinctive facade."
The Nysan BlindView system controls heat and glare by automatically raising or lowering the blinds. A suntracking program calculates the time of day the sun will start to hit the facade and incrementally lowers the blind to pre-set stop positions, he says.
Turner Brothers provide both internal and external shading solutions. Internal shading options such as curtains, roman blinds, roller blinds, and metal and timber Venetians and shutters are available. Custom or standard external solutions include fixed or operable Venetian blinds, shutters, louvres, awnings, and conservatory systems.
Turner Brothers are the exclusive dealers of Nysan Shading Systems and Arc products.
