Textural elements are a feature of the house exterior they also define rooms on the inside. To complement a feature wall of stacked stone in the open-plan kitchen, the design team specified engineered stone benchtops from the Stoneology Benchmark series.

The benchtops, which include an island top with a waterfall side, are in Elspargo a subtle, flecked engineered stone.

Stoneology says the Benchmark series is defined by its natural aesthetics, and by its low-maintenance properties. Organic polymer resin gives the product an impervious surface that does not need sealing or waxing. Being non porous, it is also resistant to staining.

Other key benefits include durability. Made from quartz, Benchmark is one of the hardest engineered stone products available. As well as being highly durable, the surface is scratch and heat resistant. It is also acid resistant, and is available in a large sheet size.
