Seaside mansion rises out of the rocks
Situated right on the water's edge, this home of layers by Karim Nader is the perfect summer escape
Design: Karim NaderPhotography: Marwan HarmoucheAbout the project: The owner of this home approached Karim Nader with a relatively simple brief. They wanted a home with as many rooms as possible where they could gather friends and family and relax by the sea. The architect certainly delivered on the brief. The home is 2,000 square metres situated on the waterfront and features a total of 11 bedrooms. On the ground floor, a courtyard features a fountain and pathways connecting the different areas. When assessing the location, the architect became interested in the surrounding environment.“We were particularly inspired by the nearby stratified rock formations, their whites and off-white colors but also their horizontal layering," the architect explains. “The house is a deep exploration of a very simple palette, the whites of the pebbles, the beiges of the rocks, from the external cladding until the tiniest detail.”"The architectural language of the house is inspired by the stratification of the nearby rock formation on the shore, at once graphic and dramatic."
