No matter how high-tech a new kitchen seems, you can be pretty sure nature has had a hand in there somewhere.

The kitchens on these pages showcase a new surfacing material that is the result of extensive research and development, and advanced technology. But it is the natural beauty of the quartz and metallic accents that create a surface that's out of the ordinary.

The Silestone Platinum Series is an innovative new surfacing material from Cosentino North America. Marketing vice-president Lorenzo Marquez says the series reflects Cosentino's continuous commitment to the design industry, which is a key driving force for the company.

"Our large production capacity, mixed with an extensive R&D effort, ensures we can continually introduce new colors that cater to the needs of designers and discerning homeowners," he says. "For the Silestone Platinum Series, we're using some of the most pure quartz minerals available. This allows us to produce an extremely high-gloss surface."

The Silestone Platinum Series features four colors Chrome, a soft silver; Steel, a solid silver gray; Carbono, a solid dark gray; and Zirconium, a metallic gray. The metallic accents in both the Chrome and Zirconium colors introduce a sense of movement to the palette.

As with all Silestone quartz surfaces, this series is naturally nonporous and never needs to be sealed. It is also scorch-, scratch- and stain-resistant, and comes with built-in Microban® antimicrobial protection, NSF and Greenguard certification.

The Greenguard certification means that Silestone Quartz produces low-to-no emissions of toxic chemicals into the indoor environment. This helps reduce the level of harmful pollutants in your home.

Silestone Quartz is available coast-to-coast in North America, as well as online at www.e-counters.com. For more information, phone 1866 Countertops. Or visit the website: www.silestoneusa.com.
