Par excellence
From the intricate wrought iron and solid marble columns to the handcrafted interiors, this house from Illyrians Developments makes a grand statement
In every street there is usually one house that stands out from the rest. And it's not always a question of size it is more likely to be the combination of good architecture and distinctive materials that sets it apart.
Houses designed and built by Queensland developer Illyrians Developments fit this category. Director Arben Krepi says the company places an emphasis on top-quality materials and products.
"This is our key point of difference," he says. "From the solid marble columns and plaques to the ornamental plaster cornices and solid timber flooring, every item is chosen for its quality."
Krepi says the wrought iron, marble, travertine and onyx that feature in the homes are sourced from Italy. As the company deals directly with the factories and quarries, it is able to control costs, which has obvious benefits for homeowners.
"Neither the quality nor the design is compromised," says Krepi. "The solid marble plaques and decorative timber parquetry, for example, are similar to the plaques and flooring in the Versace Hotel on the Gold Coast."
But it is also the things you can't see that make a difference. Krepi says every house is built to achieve a 5-star energy rating, rather than the required 3.5 stars. The German-designed windows feature double glazing, which keeps the interiors cool in summer and warm in winter.
