To be safe and effective, a fire protection system whether for a large or small facility needs to be simple to install and easy for building managers to operate and monitor.

Bensan Servicing supplied the Edward EST system for the Fale Pasifika. Managing director Jacqui Bensemann says the system uses electronic labelling componentry to make installation simpler and quicker than many other systems.

"This helps to save time and reduce errors during installation," she says.

Other advantages of the system include its ability to provide details on the status of each detector, thereby reducing the level of false alarms. The powerful diagnostic software allows the system to be interrogated via a portable computer, simplifying fault-finding and maintenance work.

The EST system can be monitored from a central computer, simplifying the task of managing the system and the facility. The ability to interface to CCTV systems, security and mechanical systems also provides efficiencies for building managers.
