The new Britomart East complex including Westpac on Takutai Square, required more than 4000m² of natural stone in a variety of types, colours and finishes. The stones, including basalts, granite, marble and limestone, were sourced by Italian Stone from countries including China, Italy and Iran and imported into New Zealand to be processed for their specific area of use.
With many years of experience in dealing with stone suppliers and quarries around the world, and with its state-of-the-art processing factory in Auckland, Italian Stone was well qualified to complete all the natural stone components of this project. The company sourced, imported, processed, (including design of fixing systems and shop drawings), and installed all stone cladding and flooring for the building. The brief included supply and installation of limestone cladding to columns, walls, and floors of the Westpac tenancy and the foyer for the Ernst and Young and Southern Cross tenancies.
To guarantee the smooth running of such a complex project requires long experience in the sourcing and processing of natural stone as well as high levels of skill in management, logistics and installation. Italian Stone, with its team of site managers, CAD designers, and installers, backed up by the factory with multiple diamond saws, edge finishing and CNC machines, executed the project to the required specification within the specified time frame and budget.
