Chemical-free, natural swimming pools are a fast-growing trend overseas and are now available in New Zealand, designed and installed by Palmco.
As well as the obvious health benefits of swimming in chemical-free water, natural pools blend seamlessly with their surroundings. The cleaning process combines plants, filtration and naturally occuring microorganisms to remove waterborne particles and algae-producing nutrients. The pool's swimming zone connects to the landscape via a planted regeneration or cleansing zone, relying on natural processes, not chemicals, for crystal-clear water. Features such as natural waterfalls and beaches can be part of the design.
