Luminary lines
Modern, linear light fittings complement the styling of this contemporaryhome and provide a range of lighting options from subtle to striking
With the myriad lighting options available for our homes today, we now have the choice of turning light fittings into a design feature or using them in a more subtle way.
The kitchen and living room of this modern home feature a selection of contemporary lighting options.
In the open-plan kitchen, a Sospesa pendant light hangs above the island benchtop. Its defined, geometrical shape and simple design complement the modern styling and white walls of the kitchen.
Designed and manufactured by Italian company Fabbian, the Sospesa pendant comprises a transparent, rectangular panel of glass. The electrical circuit runs through this glass to form a pattern of intersecting lines leading to each lighting point.
To provide more discreet, task-based lighting, the kitchen is also fitted with single- and double-light Architectural fittings with a metallic silver finish. Their square shapes reflect the lines of the pendant light, while their recessed forms give the ceiling a clean, streamlined appearance. The low-voltage halogen lamps in each light fitting are mounted on individual, multi-directional gimbles and can be dimmed as required.
