We are spoilt in New Zealand when it comes to the variety of spectacular outlooks on show in locations around the country. For those building homes in these areas, capitalising on the view is paramount.Design company Yellowfox is involved in creating interiors in many different locations around New Zealand. When designing the interiors of this new Wanaka development, the idea was to accentuate the drama of the outlook through choice of materials, says designer Andrea Burney."A stone benchtop carries the eye from the kitchen to the living room and out to the lake beyond. The block-like nature of the bedroom on the mezzanine is echoed by the kitchen cabinetry, which is designed to form three sections of colour." Dark-stained oak veneer with a horizontal grain accentuates the length of the base cabinetry.Yellowfox designers often carry out design work, but they are also happy to specify products and services by partners and associates for existing designs."The architect designed all the joinery units in this project and we specified suitable products. The developer's reaction was very positive, and we were also involved from early on in stage two of the development," says the designer. Image of the kitchen which features an island with bar stools.
