Lock, stock and barrel
When a leading Queensland locksmith company brought together all its operations under one roof, The OFS Group was contracted to ensure a good fit
Efficiency is a key driver for every company, and consolidating business activities in a single location is one of the best ways to achieve this. But to maximise the advantages of such a move, it's essential the fit-out runs smoothly, with as little disruption as possible.
For South Brisbane-based locksmith firm John Barnes & Co Qld Pty Ltd, a government resumption provided the imputation and momentum to merge the company's head office, sales organisation and warehouse facility in a new building in Salisbury, Brisbane.
The OFS Group was contracted to design the fit-out for the entire operation, including warehouse, key cutting and office areas. The company worked closely with Austindale Design to meet a challenging delivery schedule. OFS managing director Ray Simpson says the company had just seven weeks to supply and install all the joinery, office furniture, workbenches and storage facilities for both offices and warehouse.
To streamline the entire operation, the company's first priority was to establish a project team. Ray Simpson project managed the operation, liaising with Austindale Design and ensuring the suppliers and removal company Classic Office Relocations were kept up to date with the programme. Shaun Devenish-Meares and Lloyd Turner of OFS were responsible for office and warehouse fit-outs.
