Light work
Good lighting is essential in the kitchen. Philips Masterline ES halogen lamps provide all the light you need and help you save on energy costs
As any lighting consultant will confirm, the kitchen presents special lighting challenges. Not only do you need good task lighting over work surfaces, you also want the right ambient lighting.
Philips offers a range of energy-efficient halogen systems that achieve these objectives and also save power. These systems include Star and Tilta downlights. When combined with the Masterline ES (Energy Saving) halogen lamp, these lights offer increased light output for the same energy consumption as a regular halogen.
Philips says the Masterline ES lamp also has a transformer that features a soft start. This means the lamp doesn't need a rush of power to achieve optimum glow; it simply increases currents gradually. This significantly increases the life of the bulb up to 5000 hours as compared to 1000 hours for a standard halogen.
The lamp also has an infra-red, heat-reflecting coating and a double-ended inner lamp burner, which together make it up to 40% more efficient than a regular halogen.
