Weekends are for playing, not working. Low-maintenance Palliside cladding helps keep it that way
Show home designers take into account many factors when choosing cladding styles. Aesthetics is always an important consideration, but so too are durability and low maintenance.
Mark Frame, director of Frame Homes, had no hesitation when it came to choosing pre-finished Palliside weatherboards for this new show home in Karaka.
"Frame Homes has used Palliside many times over the past few years, and we will continue to use this cladding for a number of reasons," he says. "It's a low-maintenance product that never needs painting that's a big plus. We also appreciate the quick installation, which makes it a cost-effective option. The traditional profile of the weatherboards is another benefit Palliside blends well in any neighbourhood."
For this project Frame combined the cladding with Stevenson honed concrete block. The textural blockwork contrasts the smooth weatherboards, adding visual interest.
Palliside is a solid weatherboard with a foamed cellular core and a UV-resistant top coat, which is impervious to denting and chipping. Manufactured to withstand New Zealand's climate extremes and coastal conditions, the weatherboards have an interlocking design with hidden nailing, which prevents moisture from getting behind the boards. This helps ensure they won't rot, warp or peel.
Palliside comes with a full set of accessories, including moulded external corners that match the shape of the weatherboard.
The cladding has been independently tested, is BRANZ appraised and, for further peace of mind, comes with a 25-year guarantee.
