Keeping up to 100,000 thirsty patrons satisfied may sound like a logistical nightmare, but with the right dispensing equipment, beer and soft drink can flow as needed. Lancer was commissioned by the Foster's Australia and Coke A Cola Amatil to supply the beer and soft drink dispensing equipment to the new facilities at the MCG.

Shane Devlyn of Lancer Victoria and Tasmania says the company needed to supply quality equipment that would deliver cold beer and beverages quickly and consistently.

"In addition, the equipment had to be easy to operate, reliable and low maintenance," he says.

Lancer already supplies similar beer and soft drink dispensing equipment to the Southern Stand. To cater to the 28 new bar areas and 23 coolrooms, 5000m of beer pythons were installed.

In addition, the company fitted out 12 keg rooms, and supplied 28 Everest glycol tanks. To service beverage sales alone, 88 carbonator tanks, 10 drop-in systems with dispensing towers, 34 drop-in systems with bar guns, and 120 syrup pumps shared over three syrup rooms were installed.

"Lancer Multifill units were also a component of the installation brief," says Devlyn. "These were manufactured by Lancer to meet the requirement for state-of-the-art facilities that incorporate the latest dispensing technology."

Devlyn says all the visible pieces of equipment, such as the beer fonts and post-mix towers, reflect the colours and livery of the MCG.
