To provide variety, three wood types were specified for solid timber floors in the new stand at the MCG. Floors By Greensborough supplied and installed New South Wales spotted gum, Queensland spotted gum and grey box timber flooring, all of which was finished with a water-based polyurethane in a semi-gloss finish.

Director Stuart Scott says the solid wood floors combine traditional parquetry techniques with modern glue technology to provide a highly durable and decorative surface with a floorboard look.
