In any large commercial project, heavy-duty flooring materials are essential. And in potential wet areas, such as kitchens and bars, it's especially important that flooring is also slip resistant and easy to clean.
For kitchens and bar areas at the MCG, Polyflor's Polysafe sheet vinyl safety flooring in Anvil Grey was specified. Managing director Andrew Lewis says more than 5000m² of extra heavy-duty, 2.5mm-thick vinyl flooring was laid throughout the complex.
"There were several reasons for the product's selection," he says. "We were able to supply a product that matched the specification, which is not only durable, but meets all international standards for slip rating. This flooring is manufactured to be easy to clean something that is not always the case with heavy-duty safety flooring."
Lewis says the flooring features Supratec a polymer modified compound that prevents dirt from sticking to the vinyl.
"Polyflor is a global company that has always been at the forefront of technology that can improve the wear capabilities and maintenance of vinyl flooring. The development of the Supratec products is a reflection of that commitment."
Lewis says Polyflor's warehousing capabilities were another reason for the selection of its flooring for the MCG.
"We were able to import the vinyl from the Manchester factory in one colour batch and store it so the contractor could draw down from it during the four years it took to complete the project." "
Polyflor has a warehouse distribution channel that provides warehousing in each Australian state. There are also three facilities in New Zealand.
