Acoustic treatment is an important part of the design of cinema complexes. For the Berkeley Cinema project, the architect paid particular attention to the creation of a colourful interior with high-performance sound absorption.
Forman Commercial Interiors supplied and installed high-quality Armstrong mineral fibre ceilings. These were specifically coloured black to be non reflective. On selected walls, the company installed the new Fabri-Trak System. This ensured the interior design team was able to select colourful wall fabrics that would also be part of the acoustic wall treatment.
In the upstairs bar area, the angled planes added to the complexity of the ceiling. Forman Commercial Interiors manager Michael Teare says that following a demanding installation programme, the company completed its scope of works on time, working closely with Mainzeal Property and Construction.
