Mainstream movie-going may never be the same again. With its angular planes and narrowing perspectives, the design of this new cinema complex introduces an element of fantasy that continues within
One of the most visual elements within the theatre complex is the large feature wall in the foyer. This incorporates perforated metal panels supplied by Locker Group (NZ).
The company liaised with the main contractor and interior designer to resolve the design, supplying samples of powdercoated perforated metal patterns. Locker Group also supplied the perforated metal balustrades and stair treads for the fire escape stairways.
National sales manager Owen O'Meagher says the perforated metal products needed to be appropriate for the areas they were being used in. They also needed to be supplied at a price, which fitted the budget.
Mild steel, powdercoated different colours Perforated Metal P720 round end slot was selected for the two different configurations on the feature walls. To provide non-slip surfaces for treads and landings, Safe-T-Perf galvanised steel was supplied. Perforated Metal P266 was used for balustrades.
