Leading light
Safety of workers, pedestrians, and valuable on-site materials were some of the security roles that fell to Corps Security.
On any building project, the security of staff and expensive materials should be of utmost concern to project leaders. Safety of those travelling nearby both by foot and by car is another aspect of construction that needs detailed attention.
Corps Security is a well-established security firm that has worked closely with Leighton Development on several ground-breaking construction projects over the years. On this project, Corps Security's involvement was extensive, says business development manager Trish Moschella.
"For traffic control, we redirected traffic away from the site, implemented all health and safety procedures, ensured the safety of workers and visitors, monitored traffic at a safe pace, and conducted hourly monitoring of site and pathway safety," says Moschella.
Corps Security's role in security was equally comprehensive and a logbook of daily activity was kept.
"For static security monitoring, we secured all areas during hours of construction and monitored the areas at the front, sides and back of the building to ensure no intruder entered," she says. "We also secured the construction sites after hours to ensure no intruders enter the site, and that no thefts, or wilful damage occurred."
Corps Security offers competitive pricing, quality assurance, comprehensive services, and a clear reporting process with best practice, risk assessments and safety. The global company has offices in the United Kingdom, Papua New Guinea and throughout Australia.
