Potential homeowners are likely to be a lot more discerning when the economy is less buoyant they are looking for homes where quality and lifestyle factors have not been compromised.

The new Lindfield Apartments on Sydney's North Shore were designed and developed by Arkibuilt for just such a market. With the first release already snapped up, Arkibuilt director and architect Wally Zagoridis says the company is about to start construction on Phase 2.

"There is little doubt: homeowners are putting lifestyle first," he says. "And that was precisely our design emphasis."

Natural materials feature throughout the building these include the sandstone exterior, copper trim and cedar windows. The interior reflects an equally high standard of specification kitchens are equipped with high-end Miele appliances.

"We polled potential buyers and they were unanimous that Miele was their preferred appliance brand," says Zagoridis.
