QUALITY BUILDINGS such as the Auckland War Memorial Museum project, recently completed by Hawkins Construction, are the result of a combination of factors. Quality decision making, professional representations of products and an understanding of exactly what will be needed are all essential.

This is best provided by setting up information pathways between product manufacturers and decision makers, such as architects, engineers and building owners, at the right stage of the project, says Tony Stevens-Graham of Whats On Construction Report.

"And this can only be achieved if manufacturers and their representatives are exposed to full, accurate and timely information, empowering them to be efficient.

"They need to be able to see well into the future so they can plan and target representation to decision makers, giving designers more time to make quality decisions through being better informed."

Stevens-Graham says this is what quality information is all about.

"The better the information we provide to manufacturers, the greater the opportunity there is to facilitate quality construction projects. This knowledge drives the research we do on behalf of our clients."
