Hot new look

It's generally agreed that the gently glowing flames of an open fire add a warm, welcoming feel to the ambience of a home. However, not every house has sufficient space for a flued fireplace or, indeed, wants that particular look.

The new EcoSmart fire is flueless and is not connected to a permanent fuel supply, allowing you to create a cosy atmosphere without installing a full fireplace. The EcoSmart is also environmentally friendly, running on methylated spirits, a renewable fuel source.

The modular design of these fires means they are versatile and easy to install into homes in a variety of innovative ways. All models can be set into existing fireplaces, and some can be installed directly into polished wood or carpeted floors.

Real Fires director Ali Scott says the design possibilities are endless.

"The EcoSmart looks equally good used in a more traditional fireplace setting or to create a focal point in the entrance foyer of a contemporary home," she says.

The EcoSmart is available as a burner kit only, or as a completed, freestanding unit, ready to unpack and light. It is mobile, and can be incorporated into an interior at any stage, or later be moved if required.
