The warm, sunny and sheltered northerly aspect of this location proved to be the perfect spot for Queenstown's founder William Rees to build his homestead 150 years ago.

Add to that its beautiful outlooks and lake access, and it’s no surprise that the Hilton chain chose the site to showcase it's Queenstown operations.

More recently, part of the site has been developed into fine housing, including this one by designer Lloyd Richardson.
