With careful design, there's no reason why apartment and townhouse dwellers can't appreciate the benefits of gas heating. The fast, efficient heat and the energy savings to be gained are also a strong incentive for buyers.

Rinnai offers a range of space and water heating solutions to suit this market. These include the Rinnai Energy Saver Power Flue gas heaters, which feature sophisticated electronics to monitor heater functions in order to maximise heating delivery and efficiency.

The Energy Saver heaters have a remote control and a dual timer system that can be programmed to turn on in the morning and evening. There is also an economy mode operation to ensure the heater delivers low-cost efficiency.

Rinnai marketing services manager Audrey Smith says another benefit of the Power Flue system is the way the externally vented flue can be installed virtually anywhere within the home.

Energy Saver gas heaters are available in Natural Gas or LPG.

Gas hot water heating for multi-unit dwellings is also a speciality for the company. The Rinnai Infinity Manifold system, where two or more Infinity units are joined together, is suited to apartments, where there is a demand for large, continuous volumes of hot water.

The system provides flexibility by enabling each Infinity unit to operate separately, then, as hot water demand increases, another Infinity unit is automatically switched on.

"The low initial capital cost and gas efficiency make this system a very cost-effective alternative to traditional boiler systems," says Smith. "The system not only provides an endless supply of hot water, but also ensures gas energy is not wasted."
