The interior walls and concrete flooring feature Resene coatings Interior view of the NZ Maritime NZ which features concrete floors which are coated in Resene's Uracryl 403. In any museum environment, the focus is firmly on the displays, but that doesn't mean the backdrop is unimportant. If anything, the opposite applies the exhibits need to be mounted in an appropriate setting that will display them to best advantage.Gallery walls within the NZ Voyager Maritime Museum are painted in Resene Zylone Sheen, tinted to Resene White Pointer. Circulation areas, which are subject to heavy traffic, are painted the same colour, in Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen. Both paints are Environmental Choice-approved, low-odour waterborne enamels that provide a durable, washable finish. The low sheen helps to minimise surface imperfections. Ceilings in some areas of the museum are painted in Resene flat ceiling white. The concrete floors feature Resene Uracryl 403, tinted to Resene Scarpa Flow. Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says Resene Uracryl is a high-performance, two-component finish coat with particularly good resistance to abrasion, moisture, petroleum solvents and mineral and vegetable oils, alkalis and acids."The most unusual feature of Resene Uracryl 403 is that, unlike most other classes of high-performance coatings, its good looks actually match its many protective qualities," says Warman. "The sophisticated combination of aliphatic urethanes and urethane-reactive acrylic resins gives the system its defining gloss and colour retention." Resene paints also feature on the exterior of the museum, on the north side, where key architectural features are painted in Resene Whizz Bang a bright orange-red shade. For more information, or to get a copy of the latest fandeck, visit a Resene ColorShop, or freephone 0800 Resene (737 363).
