Asubtle yet irreversible shift has taken place in kitchens across America and the rest of the world. From purely functional spaces they have transformed into focal points of family life, entertainment and an expression of personal style.
One company at the forefront of this evolution is German kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl. Its latest innovation, the +Integration® planning concept, aims to redefine the kitchen in architectural, aesthetic, technological and functional terms.
As a result, the kitchen has extended into a communication hub, a home office and a living and entertaining space.
With +Integration's intelligent-kitchen networking, smart-home technology can be controlled from an unobtrusive touch panel, or via infrared remote or laptop.
Aesthetically, the +Integration design is characterised by discreet units and wallcabinets, as well as movable floor-to-ceiling facing walls that provide both spatial and functional versatility.
The new-look palette combines black, light gray or white high-gloss acrylic fronts made from Parapan®, with wood veneers offset by accents of aluminum and glass.
Wood veneer options include the fine grain and warm tones of Swiss pearwood; the durability and decorative patterning of walnut; and the uniform stripes of industrially produced zebrano-structure.
Each veneer is produced to order, ensuring consistent patterning that can be used vertically or horizontally, as desired.
