Furniture look kitchen exudes good taste
Practical and with a furniture feel, this kitchen responds to its new home surroundings. A crackle tile splashback and dramatic pendants are just two character features

Owner's brief
The homeowners of this architecturally designed house requested a space that worked with the resort feel of their new home. The rough footprint was outlined on the plans, including the location of a large scullery behind the main kitchen.
Seating at the island, a large fridge and two ovens were also requested, as well as generous benchtops and storage in the scullery pantry.
Designer's response
My vision for this kitchen, was for a furniture feel and look to the main kitchen cabinetry.
To this end, I specified textured oak, with a mid-tone grey stain, timber legs to support the bar top, while the veined benchtops are in leather finished Titanium granite.
Two wall-mounted shelves against the crackle tile splashback, and oversize Graypants pendants complete the scheme.
A unique detail contributing to the furniture look is the negative detail between the oak doors
The addition of LED lights, under over cupboards, in the shelving and along the bar back, completes the scheme.
