It's not just the cars that provide a smooth ride at the Ferrari Maserati Sydney dealership. The elevators reflect a similar attention to comfort and detail.

Elevator Services Group was contracted to supply two Kleemann observation lifts that would fit both the aesthetics of the showroom and the requirement for quiet, fast operation.

Contracts manager David Drakes says the lifts also needed to provide high visibility.

"There is a lot of glass in an observation lift and all the lift workings are exposed, so it was essential to present these in a visually pleasing aspect."

Drakes says the Kleemann lifts feature the renowned and robust German Ziehl-Abegg lift drive mechanism, with a LISA (local integrated software architecture) control system.

"The variable voltage, variable frequency drive (VVVF) provides a very quiet, smooth ride. The two lifts also work in conjunction with each other to ensure fast response times."

Elevator Services Group, which specialises in low- and medium-rise commercial lifts, has expanded its business rapidly over the past seven years. And, although the lift machinery is manufactured in Europe, the company has developed a comprehensive stock of spare parts.

"Potential clients always want the assurance that they won't have to wait weeks for spare parts we can usually supply parts overnight," says Drakes.
