The use of cantilevered benchtops helps to create extra space in this narrow terrace home
Creating a functional kitchen with plenty of room for a large family in a narrow terrace home is a challenge. One solution, as demonstrated in this home, is to maximise the available space by installing several cantilevered benchtops. These provide ample bench space while maintaining as much floor space as possible.
All the benchtops in this kitchen were supplied, cut and installed by Aysons Marble and Granite. Yildiz Sezgin of Aysons says it's important to use an expert stonemason for these difficult jobs.
"Our stonemason takes his job very seriously, he's fastidious with his work. He always uses the same batch of stone throughout an entire job to ensure colours match perfectly."
Aysons' stonemason personally selects the stone before buying, rather than just ordering direct from the wholesaler. The stone is inspected for faults, and only the best is chosen.
The company's reputation for careful work means almost all of Aysons' clients learn about the company through word of mouth, and many are repeat customers.
"We take a lot of care with our clients to make sure they choose the right products and colours," Sezgin says.
Customers can visit Aysons' showroom or warehouse to choose benchtops. CaesarStone, marble, granite and quantum quartz are available in many colours.
