Injecting the wow factor into a kitchen can be as simple as adding a bold colour accent, or pairing interesting materials.

This kitchen, designed by Gary Todd of Gary Todd Architecture, does both. Sleek, aluminium cabinetry is contrasted by an island painted in high-gloss Resene Black, and a vivid orange splashback in Resene Grenadier. This flash of colour is exposed when the cabinetry doors are opened to reveal the cooking centre.

The cabinetry is offset by light-toned walls painted in Resene Sea Fog a slightly grey white from the Resene The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck.
