Both these elements came together with Trethewey Granite & Marble the company commissioned to provide the extensive basalt surfaces that feature throughout the museum, inside and out.Trethewey supplied and installed cladding for feature walls on the museum interior, including the lift cores and entry megastructure. The company also provided the basalt steps to the staircase in the Grand Atrium, the basalt flooring to the main area, and the single slab integral sinks in the bathrooms.
