One company supplied and installed several water-tight applications on the project. Neuchatel provided and laid three distinct waterproofing solutions on the Lumley development, says manager Royce Whitehead.

"Mastic asphalt waterproofing membrane was specified for levels 27 and 28 of the tower; also for the level 10 carpark deck and vehicle ramp running between levels 9 and 10," says Whitehead. "We have been using this durable membrane in New Zealand for nearly a century now, and projects completed 50 years ago are still going strong, without need for replacement materials."

Paralon, a membrane widely used in Europe, was applied on the podium at level nine, on top of the rotunda and on a building maintenance unit.

Neuchatel's third product application was a fibre-reinforced Elastogum liquid-applied membrane on the floors of all plant rooms, as waterproofing in case of a pipe breakage.

"Manson Developments was happy with the level of finish on all these products, and the work has led to several follow-up projects," says Whitehead.
