Face of change
A light-filled, environmentally friendly building forms the chic new inner-city home for Electrolux Home Products the space is attractive and efficient, with a Scandinavian feel
There can be no greater reflection of a company's corporate ethos than the head office it inhabits. An international appliance company's relocation to an inner-city address, in a modern, efficient and pared-back workplace, sends out a strong message of progress, energy-consciousness and clean design.
Electrolux Home Products has relocated to the heart of Sydney in a new ecology-driven building, owned, managed and developed by the Goodman Group. The building, designed by architect David Lai from the Goodman Group in conjunction with Mati Yogev from Group GSA, is a picture of gleaming glass on the outside. The Electrolux head offices occupying levels one to four of the building are light-filled and comfortable with a blond-wood, minimalist Scandinavian feel.
Electrolux Corporate Services manager Jason Cowland explains how the physical change in address reflects a fresh corporate outlook for Electrolux.
"This move to modern, green-focused offices sends a clear signal to our own staff, to clients, and to the public at large that Electrolux is moving with the times," says Cowland. "The relocation is about a stronger corporate identity, including an increased brand identity and achieving a modern, ergonomically adroit, energy-efficient workplace."
The new building runs over 11 levels, including six integrated levels for carparking, with a cafe and gym at the ground level.
Cowland says a feature of the Electrolux offices is an open-plan interactive area designed for culinary events, product launches and promotional activities highlighting the latest Electrolux innovations.
