Eye-catching centrepiece
Glossy black reflective surfaces provide a theatrical element in this kitchen designed by Andrew Dee of Wonderful Kitchens
When designing a kitchen as the centre of a larger living area, there are several possibilities. Blending into the overall space is one option, or you may prefer your kitchen to make a bold statement.
When the owners of this home approached Andrew Dee of Wonderful Kitchens, they wanted a kitchen that had clean, contemporary lines and that would be an eye-catching feature of their large, open-plan living spaces.
"It had to be dramatic and add a wow factor to the space. The owners like dark surfaces and reflective elements, and because this space is large and light, we felt that cabinetry with a black metallic finish would create the atmosphere and look they were after," says Dee.
The kitchen is also functional and easy to use for entertaining and family living. A marble-topped breakfast bar can also be a preparation area or a servery at parties.
Wonderful Kitchens has designed, manufactured and installed kitchens, laundries, closets and bathrooms for 30 years.
