There's no better way to appreciate a kitchen design than by being able to see the completed project. Similarly, a hands-on experience with new products gives you a much greater appreciation than virtual reality.

In the past, the only way to see a mix of kitchens was to traipse across town from one store to another. Today, there's an easy way to see the very latest designs all in one place.

The Architects & Designers Building is home to the New York metro area's largest collection of luxury showrooms for kitchen, bath and home building products. High-end appliance companies such as Sub-Zero/Wolf and Miele also have showrooms in the A&D Building.

Flaherty says the displays in each showroom enable you to view many different kitchen settings and create a complete kitchen using that one company's products and design services.
