Today, it seems there is at least one passionate cook in every family something that can probably be attributed to the rise of cooking shows on television and the internet.

As a consequence, kitchens are becoming more high tech, and better equipped. But there is a corresponding need for good storage systems.

Rev-A-Shelf has a solution for every storage dilemma, offering good, better and best alternatives to suit every budget. The company has also released its first electric-assist storage system, which general manager David Noe describes as the first of a new trend.

"While we always need to be price competitive, we are aware that high-end design needs the technology to match. To this end we have taken the initiative to provide electric solutions with the release of our 4WCSD waste containers."

Noe says Rev-A-Shelf has joined forces with Blum, the innovator of soft-close drawer runners, to incorporate the Blum Servo Drive touch-to-open system in the 4WCSD units. This means the waste container opens automatically with just a touch on the front of the door, or with a light pull of the handle, which is ideal when your hands are full.

"These units also feature a dovetail maple drawer box, durable polymer containers, and Blum's heavy-duty, full-extension Tandem runners."

Noe says Rev-A-Shelf is now working with its Italian partner Compagnucci to expand the technology in its glass pantry line.

Other new products from Rev-A-Shelf include the pullout wood pantry, which provides easy access to food items or baking equipment. Available in four widths and three heights, the pullout wood pantry features Rev-A-Shelf's soft-close slide system and a telescoping rear wall.

Shari McPeek, marketing manager for Rev-A-Shelf, says the pullout wood pantry is also notable for adaptability, strength and aesthetics.

"The adjustable maple shelves will enhance the decor of any kitchen, be it modern, classical, or traditional."

Rev-A-Shelf also offers new storage organizers.

"Organization is the one thing every good chef has in common," McPeek says. "The new 4DPBG Series vinyl peg board offers a way to organize your deep drawers. The board has a vinyl covering that is easy to maintain, and works with either our wood pegs or new chrome accessories."

McPeek also recommends the new 5DCH-2-1-CR chrome canister holder, 5DCD-1-CR deep pot and pan rack and the 5DLD-1-CR lid rack for deep drawers, all of which are designed to work with the 4DPS and 4DPBG peg boards.

"The racks help solve the problem of culinary clutter, providing a complete cooking station at your fingertips. They have an easy press-in installation, and offer plenty of flexibility if required."
