Easy on the eye, tricky in the undertaking
Clean, crisp lines and a custom skylight above make this bathroom shine – simple curves and minimising tile cuts at key points are touches that make all the difference

From the designer:
Project summary
The combination of marble, veneer and curves brings harmony and elegance to this bathroom.
Natural light via a large custom skylight and the open-plan design contributes greatly to the overall impact.
To achieve such a high level of finish for this bathroom required close attention to detail – from framing through to finishing trades.
This is especially seen in the curved walls and niche.
The use of timber laminate veneer as the entry threshold and feature walls rather than on the vanity is an unusual element that sets this ensuite apart.
The lighting is uncluttered and subtle while the choice of tapware and fittings finishes complements the marble and veneer.
Tile layout also plays its role in this bathroom – prioritising full tile set out and minimising cuts at key visual points were two strategies that help keep the lines of the bathroom clean and crisp.
Quality of construction
The precise workmanship involved to create this bathroom is displayed in its simple, stunning lines.
The square set detail that allows the joinery and tiling to interact seamlessly needed careful and detailed skill.
Collaboration between our pre-sheet carpenter, plasterer, tiler and joiner was the key to this detail working.
And similarly, the set out and installation of the skylight during framing required forward planning and skilled execution.
When something looks simple with clean visual lines, that often indicates a great deal of complexity behind the scenes – and this bathroom is testimony to that.
