Tasmanian oak flooring was chosen for Lure Restaurant, lounge and the restaurant's stairs because its lighter colour was subtle enough to allow it to blend in with The Coro's vibrant colour scheme.

The wood was supplied by Gunns Limited, one of Australia's largest fully integrated hardwood forest products company.

Gunns' Queensland manager Paul Williamson says the light coloured flooring was also chosen because it's a practical colour for a restaurant.

"Restaurant floors get a good work out, so a lighter colour will hide dust and markings much better than a darker colour," he says.

Gunns specialises in Tasmanian Oak, which is a combination of three species of eucalypt. These species are used for their superior drying and finishing properties.

Having been involved in the saw milling and timber processing industries for over one hundred years, Gunns has a wealth of experience in all aspects of the timber industry.
