Deje vu
The Coro hotel was designed to capture the essence of the iconic Coronation Hotel that used to stand on this very site
Regulations for balcony seating require that some form of balustrade is used, but that doesn't have to mean blocking out the view. Glass balustrades from Complete Design Fabrication were used for The Coro's balconies, ensuring patrons an unimpeded view of the street below.
To continue the theme, and to allow maximum light throughout the venue, glass balustrading was also used inside. A semi-frameless style with stainless steel uprights was chosen, providing links to the use of stainless steel throughout the building.
Complete Design Fabrication director Rick Anderson says glass balustrading is very popular.
"Seventy per cent of our balustrading work is now glass. It's popular for high-rise building balconies where people want to see the view."
Window screens are also a popular product for maintaining privacy. With everyone living closer to each other nowadays, screens are necessary between dwellings. The company can also provide aluminium balustrades, pool fencing and gates.
