The stadium's cladded facades were chosen for strength as well as enduring aesthetics these were supplied by PBS Contracting and installed by PBS Distributors
At eye level, the cladding solutions play an important part in the stadium's aesthetic impact. Durability and longevity were also essential attributes for the stadium's modern cladding finishes.
PBS Distributors supplied and PBS Contracting installed exterior and interior cladding in fibre-cement prefinished sheets. The support structure a cavity-based system was also installed by PBS.
The brief to PBS was to provide an appealing, low maintenance, prefinished surface for interior and exterior walls. Prefinished Europanel sheets were selected in Natura from a range of colours for the exterior and in Eter-Color for interior applications both chosen for their natural good looks and enduring character.
Intricate facades such as walls curving in two directions called for complicated installation setouts. PBS templated these in MDF for trial applications to ensure they got it right first time. Joints between the exterior cladding panels have distinctive aluminium profiles while the interior cladding has secret-fix joint connections.
The Natura cladding sheet selected by PBS Distributors has an additional permanent anti-graffiti protection that besides ensuring it stays relatively mark-free, also makes the sheet harder and stronger. The Eter-Color interior surface lining is distinctive and contemporary, bringing a sense of greater harmony to the stadium.
