Designing a kitchen from scratch allows you to enjoy the best of all worlds a highly efficient work triangle, plenty of bench space, and aesthetics that complement the rest of your home interior.
All these factors came together for the owners of this contemporary Christchurch house. The couple commissioned ADNZ (Architectural Designers New Zealand) member company Jackson + Jackson Architectural Design to plan their home.
Designer Sue Jackson says the layout was designed so the owners could oversee the adjacent family living areas, and the pool, while working at the sink. Distinct zones ensure more than one person can work in the kitchen at the same time. There is also a walk-in pantry with an extra sink, bench space and refrigerator.
The rear accent wall features dark-stained oak veneer with a bookmatched horizontal graining.
ADNZ members are specialists in architectural design, construction and renovation. They can initiate and complete a building project from conception through to final certification. In addition to holding recognised professional qualifications or having relevant experience, members undertake compulsory professional development, and are required to meet ADNZ competency standards. They are also bound by the ADNZ code of ethics.
