Design freedom

The traditional kitchen has been reconstructed as a cooking and living environment that makes sense for the 21st century Peter Russell, Fisher & Paykel national marketing manager

Just as no two families are the same, so do their kitchen needs differ. What works for one family may not be the right solution for the other.

To cater to the needs of every household, Fisher & Paykel has designed a full complement of appliances featuring the latest intelligent technology. The diversity of the products available makes it easy to personalise your kitchen by choosing ovens, hoods, refrigeration, dishwashers and induction, gas or ceramic cooktops that meet your functional and aesthetic requirements.

Included in the line-up is the new Izona collection. National marketing manager Peter Russell says Izona represents an entirely new way of thinking about kitchen design and functionality.

"This appliance collection is all about equipping kitchens at the ideal ergonomic zone, which is around waist height."

Russell says the Izona range is also about design freedom, and the provision of modular appliances that can be integrated within cabinets.

"Izona rewrites the rule book for kitchen design. It disregards old paradigms and offers new levels of space personalisation all with an underlying sense of theatre."

Russell says the Izona CookSurface is a good example the cooktop has retractable pan supports and burners that pop up when needed.

The Izona CoolDrawer is another example of the innovative thinking behind the new Fisher & Paykel appliances. This multi-temperature fridge drawer can be customised to cool, freeze or freshen foods.

Fisher & Paykel has also released a new version of its renowned DishDrawer. A Flat Curve front updates the rounded facade that defined the Classic DishDrawer for more than a decade. Internally, practical improvements include fully adjustable side racks, which can fold away completely if required. Folding tines replace traditional plate racks and easily flatten to provide room for large pots, platters and bowls.

Fisher & Paykel's pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens have also undergone a transformation. The popular OB76 and OB60 ovens feature clean European styling, machined metals, a mirrored glass finish and electronic illumination.

The OB76, affectionately known internally by its project name Paris, is designed for the serious cook. The 76cm oven features Fisher & Paykel's AeroTech convection cooking system, which controls the temperature to within 2°C.
