"They are young, creative people and our design needed to reflect this, to show them as happening, imaginative people, not serious or conservative. The design also had to be sympathetic to the existing building's architecture," she says.
Previously, the reception area, a small desk buried at the far end of the main entry space, gave no sense of welcome.
"The new design makes clients feel more welcome, and creates a cool dynamism to reinforce the image the company wishes to portray," says the designer.
Features such as vibrant and reactive colours, furniture that looks and feels comfortable rather than corporate, and organic shapes help establish this energy.
Collins Vergnaud also refurbished the old, unappealing compositing suites. American clients may spend several days working on projects at Animal Logic's studios, often for many hours at a stretch. As a result these areas had to accommodate the latest technology and provide a comfortable environment to suit functions from sitting at computers to meeting, relaxing, eating and even sleeping.
"We achieved this by providing a selection of furnishings for both work and for comfort, including desks, chairs, more relaxing sofas and coffee tables.
"We also broke up the linearity of the spaces with curved walls, furniture in interesting shapes and a range of bright and unusual shades," says Vergnaud.
