Haven't had a chance to get down to Auckland's newest retail and dining precent, Commercial Bay? This video walk through of the impressive space will make you feel like you're actually there
Commercial Bay, Auckland's highly-anticipated retail and hospitality precinct opened its doors to the public on 11th June 2020. Designed by Warren and Mahoney in association with Woods Bagot and NH Architecture, the $1b project is pegged to be a major destination for food, fashion, lifestyle and commerce.
The ambitious Commercial Bay project is designed to feel like you're still part of the city with its connected laneways and airy atriums.
According to the Warren and Mahoney website the development is a once in a lifestyle opportunity for the city. Blair Johnston, Warren and Mahoney principal and lead architect on the project says that few projects unlock as many opportunities as this one.
“It’s easy to talk about architecture as an object, but when you look at what we’re doing here, it’s not about creating an individual, stand-alone building. This is a rare chance to re-imagine a whole city block in the heart of the CBD of a growing city. This is a rare chance to re-imagine a whole city block in the heart of the CBD of a growing city. It’s far more powerful than a single building, and has the capacity to influence Auckland far beyond the boundaries of its actual site.””
If you haven't had a chance to visit yet, watch the video above and start planning your next trip to Auckland city.
