Future-proofing is a word that has rapidly gained traction in modern business. In most cases it is used to refer to built-in technologies or to the sustainable materials used in construction. Just as you expect your IT system to grow along with your business, so too, you expect your furnishings to meet ongoing demands.

For Telecom Place, the furnishings needed to reflect the company's forward-thinking philosophy. They also needed to be an aesthetically pleasing and durable adjunct to the interior design, says Fletcher Vaughan, founder and creative director of Fletcher Systems.

"Adaptability is a large part of the furniture we design and manufacture. Modular pieces that can be put together in differing configurations create a setting that can be changed as and when needed to keep an interior looking dynamic and fresh. Pieces specified included Landscape Arc modular seating and the Tangent and Octane tables."

Landscape Arc seating can be configured as a stand-alone meeting booth as chosen for Telecom Place or in a more conventional sofa arrangement. Designed by Stephanie Donald for Fletcher Systems, Tangent is a faceted coffee table made from powdercoated aluminium. Octane is a dining-style table crafted in solid timber with a contemporary design.

"Each of these pieces has a distinct style, yet all contribute equally to the overall design scheme within Telecom Place," says Vaughan. "They also embody the Fletcher Systems principles of creative, highly original solutions, which merge design and manufacture into a cohesive whole."
