This philosophy has been applied to the kitchen in this home. A dark chocolate finish on the cabinetry is combined with stainless steel door and drawer handles and integrated stainless steel appliances from Smeg to create the modern, streamlined look the owners wanted to achieve.
Most of the appliances in the kitchen are from Smeg's top-of-the-line Piano series. Appliances in this range are made entirely from steel and are pressed in a single sheet with no joins, ensuring there are no gaps or difficult corners to clean. This manufacturing method also ensures appliances have a smooth, seamless aesthetic.
The 70cm-wide Piano Series cooktop with wok burner has stainless steel knobs, pan stands and burner caps that enhance its sleek appearance. It is paired with the sleek Smeg KMD1030XL Piano Series rangehood.
Also from the Piano Series is the Smeg F170X 60cm wall oven. Its 10 functions include a grill element, a full- and half-fan grill option, fan-forced baking, conventional baking and defrost. For extra convenience, a digital electronic programmer and clock allow you to cook meals even when you are not in the house.
With a removable door and streamlined design, the Piano oven is easy to keep clean, and a triple-glazed door makes the oven safe to touch, even when it has been on for some time.
Smeg's SA987CX stainless steel combination microwave oven is fitted into a specially designed MWTK37 trim kit, integrating it into the cabinetry.
The Smeg SNZ693S high cube dishwasher features a delay timer, six wash programmes, and a five-stage filter system for an improved washing result. A half-load option caters for small washes, and a three-level tilting upper basket makes stacking more efficient.
Fitting well into the tall cabinetry on the side wall of the kitchen is a Smeg FA550X side-by-side 546-litre refrigerator and freezer. Full-length stainless pole handles and fully concealed door hinges give this totally frost-free refrigerator/freezer a sleek look. LED temperature displays and an electronic icemaker and water dispenser with a water filter are useful features.
