Built with integrity
Quality workmanship by Q Construction for Blum project
A company that specialises in high-quality hardware systems likes to walk the talk when it comes to the construction of its own premises. Q Construction, the successful tenderer for the Blum headquarters in Avondale, was required to deliver a professional, high-quality showcase for Blum a building that would reinforce the company's key values. for Blum project
Q Construction director Tony Eastland says the company was contracted to convert the original warehouse building into new offices, a showroom and distribution warehouse. But that was just part of a much larger project Q Construction also demolished the older buildings and built the new premises and car parks for Smith & Nephew and BSM at the front of the site.
Eastland says Q Construction had to undertake the work with existing tenants on site. "Phasing and sequencing the work meant these companies could continue to operate as work went on around them. Blum was also able to move into the warehouse part of its premises while we worked on the offices and showroom."
Architect Simon Williams of WA Architecture says the success of the project is a direct result of the teamwork and liaison between the client, architect and builder. "Q Construction performed very well, delivering the project on time and on budget. We were especially happy with the workmanship and good communication that helped the project run smoothly."
