Bright accent
Bright colour accents enliven interior
Colour can wield enormous power when used as an accent in a home interior, and it's all the more dramatic against a neutral, understated backdrop.
This city apartment in a converted commercial building remodelled by architect Lindy Leuschke of Leuschke Group, is a perfect example.
The walls are painted in Resene White, which contrasts with dark aluminium joinery and steel beams, and black leather furniture. However, it is the bright pops of colour that really enliven the space.
The fireplace surround is painted in Resene Bullseye, a bright cherry red. Colour also appears in the overhead glass cabinets in the kitchen, which are painted in Resene Daredevil, a bright orange.
Karen Warman, Resene marketing manager, says the company recommends Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen for broadwalls. This waterborne paint, which is Environmental Choice approved, provides a tough durable finish, well suited to renovation projects.
Resene Imperite is recommended for backpainted glass it's available in a large range of Resene colours and metallics.
