In today's busy world, many international travellers may not take time to smell the roses, as it were. The imperative of keeping to schedules and the lure of the next destination can get in the way of appreciating the immediate surroundings.

Guests of the Novotel Auckland Airport can thank specialist architectural glass manufacturer Glasshape for providing an instantly impressive, unobstructed view from the hotel lobby through its new full-glass, revolving entry door.

Comprising individual glass panels measuring 3.6m x 2.35m the largest curved glass panels used as constituent parts in a revolving door in the country the project is testament to the ability of Glasshape to find a solution to any application.

The company, which can manufacture individual panels of up to 3.9m x 2.44m the largest in Australasia specified its TemperShield toughened curved glass, with a thickness of 12mm, for the Novotel project.

A member of the Glass Association of New Zealand, Glasshape offers a full turnkey service, making it easy to incorporate toughened curved glass into any commercial or residential project.

The service begins with a digital site measure to determine the exact measurements required. These are then translated into CAD concepts, and from there manufactured and supplied to anywhere in the world. Through its international network of trusted installers, Glasshape can even arrange for installation when required.
