The owners of this kitchen have a large family with young children, and wanted to create a clinical look for their kitchen with matching appliances to help overcome the lived-in reality of busy family life.

Blanco began as a sink company, and still stocks a large range of sinks and taps. It also provides ovens (including freestanding cookers), cooktops, rangehoods, dishwashers, waste disposers, compactors, and bin systems.

The homeowners chose a semi-commercial modular sink to break up the monochrome tones of the long CaesarStone bench. The modular sink takes up a whole section of bench, rather than being simply cut in to the bench like many other sinks.

A double oven was chosen, as cooking for such a large family requires several options. Each oven has a range of functions to cater for all cooking requirements.

The open kitchen is close to a living area, so minimising noise from appliances was high on their priority list. The freestanding dishwasher has a low sound rating, as well as easy to use functions. The auto-load and dirt detection function allows the dishwasher to determine how full the machine is, as well as the level of dirt, then adjust the program accordingly. The Blanco rangehood is also quiet, but is one of the most powerful extraction units on the market.
